Maui police recover ordnance from shoreline in Olowalu

Maui police recovered a suspicious object emitting smoke on the shoreline in Olowalu, Monday afternoon. Patrol officers arrived at around 12:23 p.m. to a report of a fire-related type case near mile 16 of the Honoapiʻilani Highway.

Waiehu Golf Course reopens: area deemed safe after empty grenade found

Waiehu Golf Course reopened on Saturday after an investigation and response into a report of a possible unexploded ordnance found earlier in the day.

Mortar found at Kīhei recycling business, recovered by Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal team

An unexploded ordnance, which appeared to be a mortar, was discovered by employees at a Kīhei recycling company within their metals collection area Tuesday. The discovery prompted response from the Hawaiʻi Inter-Island Bomb Squad to the business on East Welakahao Road following notification on Wednesday.
