A coordinated statewide effort to support Maui’s tourism recovery is now underway, with the launch of a $6 million Maui Emergency Marketing Campaign funded by the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority.

The Hawai‘i Visitors and Convention Bureau urges travelers that now is the most important time to visit Maui, as it announced the launch of its Hawai‘i Special Offers Program on Wednesday. This special offers program features limited-time deals on accommodations, excursions, transportation, and golf, with a special focus on supporting Maui.

Dr. Aaron J. Salā was selected as the Hawai‘i Visitors & Convention Bureau’s new President and CEO, effective Sept. 1.

The Hawai‘i Visitors and Convention Bureau announced the appointment of Laurie Ihara as its new senior director of sales, single property. In her role, Ihara will be responsible for collaboratively leading and developing strategy for Meet Hawai‘i’s single property team.

The Hawai‘i Visitors and Convention Bureau announced the promotion of Sue Kanoho to Managing Director of its Island Chapters, which includes the Kaua‘i Visitors Bureau, O‘ahu Visitors Bureau, Maui Visitors and Convention Bureau and Island of Hawai‘i Visitors Bureau.

Hawaiʻi Governor Josh Green today delivered an address marking one year in office. In his address, he highlighted issues and efforts to address affordable housing, education, tourism, red hill, gun violence, healthcare and Maui’s recovery following the Aug. 8 wildfires.

The Hawai‘i Visitors and Convention Bureau announced the appointment of Scott Pauli as Executive Director for the Island of Hawai‘i Visitors Bureau, an island chapter of HVCB.  Over his career, he held various leadership positions at luxury resorts on O‘ahu, Maui and the island of Hawai‘i. 

In 2023, Pacific Media Group will publish: Experience Maui, Molokaʻi and Lānaʻi; Experience Kauaʻi; Experience Oʻahu; and Experience the Island of Hawaiʻi.

After the award of the procurement to the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement in June followed by a formal protest from the Hawaiʻi Visitors and Convention Bureau, both parties have worked collaboratively to find a way forward in partnership.

The Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority announced today it has temporarily extended its current contract with the Hawaiʻi Visitors and Convention Bureau.

The Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority is resuming its Community Enrichment Program, which supports community-based projects, festivals and events that enhance resident and visitor experiences, and create opportunities for meaningful economic development.

Starting yesterday, the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau is hosting 36 meeting planners from around the country at a three-day conference at the Hyatt Regency Maui in Lahaina.
