A fire at a Central Maui home was contained to a second story bedroom on Saturday night. The fire was reported at 9:33 p.m. on Dec. 14 at a home on Hoʻomoku St. in Kahului. The fire damaged a wall, mattress, nearby shelves and their contents.

A fire in Kahului early Monday morning caused damage to a boat and the exterior of the home where it was stored. The fire was reported at 1:16 a.m. on Oct. 28, 2024 at a home on East Hawaiʻi St.

Two people were transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center for injuries sustained in a house fire on Oneheʻe Ave. in Kahului Saturday night, fire officials said. The fire damaged 80% of the structure and caused $267,000 in damage to the structure and $50,000 in damage to its contents.

Four people were displaced following a house fire on East Papa Avenue in Kahului on Saturday. The fire caused an estimated $123,000 in damage to the structure.

A Kahului home was destroyed by fire during the New Year’s Eve celebration in Central Maui. The fire was reported at around 9:45 p.m. on Kono Place in Kahului.

Maui fire officials have ruled out fireworks as a possible cause of a Kahului home fire that was reported shortly before 10:30 a.m. on New Year’s Eve. The fire at 547 Kunu Place, was called in by neighbors who reported seeing smoke in the area.
