Native Hawaiian Caucus announces its priority bills for this year’s lawmaking session
Members of the Hawaiʻi House of Representatives Native Hawaiian Affairs Caucus presented their 2025 Legislative Package, with four priority bills aimed at representing and advocating for the needs of the Native Hawaiian community.
OHA trustees inducted into office
The Office of Hawaiian Affairs trustees elected in 2024 were inducted into their terms of office at an investiture ceremony held Thursday at Central Union Church in Honolulu.
Kaialiʻi Kahele elected OHA Board of Trustees chair
The Office of Hawaiian Affairs Board of Trustees elected Trustee Kaialiʻi Kahele as board chair on Wednesday. Kahele succeeds Trustee Carmen “Hulu” Lindsey of Maui who has served as chair for the past four years. The board and administration recognized and thanked Lindsey for her service as board chair.
OHA visits Moloka‘i this Tuesday for community follow-up meetings
The Office of Hawaiian Affairs invites Moloka‘i at-large to the Kūlana ʻŌiwi Center on Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. for a community follow-up meeting.
KS Children’s Chorus draws nearly 1,000 people to free community concert on Maui
Kamehameha Schools Children’s Chorus hosted a free community concert Friday night at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. The concert, He Leo Aloha No Maui, drew nearly a thousand people to “share the gift of mele to bring healing and hope to the people of Maui,” according to the organizers. Children from the Children’s Chorus sang “O Lahaina, E Hoi Ka Nani” during the event.

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents a free community concert featuring the Kamehameha Schools Children’s Chorus on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. in the Castle Theater. The He Leo Aloha No Maui Concert will also feature guest performances by Kamaka Kukona and Hālau o Ka Hanu Lehua, Nāpua Silva and Hālau Nā Lei Kaumaka o Uka, and Ikaika Blackburn, Halehaku Seabury, and Keoni Souza of Nā Hoa.
