The Kukui Mall parking lot was overflowing recently, spilling onto busy traffic on South Kīhei Road on a sultry summer night. A closer look revealed the reason: patrons crowding into Cool Cat Cafe, relocated last month to South Maui after wildfire destroyed its longtime Wharf Cinema Center location, across from the famed Banyan Tree in historic Lahaina town.

Tajima Ramen, a Japanese cuisine restaurant in San Diego and Tijuana, announced the grand opening of its first location in Hawaiʻi on the island of Maui. The new restaurant, located in the Kukui Mall opened its doors to the public on June 10. Restaurant owner, Sam Morikizono and his talented staff, have built a reputation for delivering high-quality handmade dishes, with a commitment to the purity of taste and style.

Allen’s Plumbing will be performing work on the County’s water system, starting Thursday, May 30, 2024. The work will result in a water shutdown for a portion of Kīhei from approximately 9 p.m. Thursday, May 30 to 5 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2024.

Cool Cat Café at the Wharf Cinema Center Shops in West Maui was destroyed by the August wildfire in Lahaina. Rising from the aftermath, the restaurant is poised to open for lunch and dinner at the Kukui Mall in Kīhei in early 2024.

For entertainment this week on Maui, there’s the Maui Veterans Day Invitational Kayak Clash, the 21st Annual Falsetto Contest, a free performance by The Voice contestant Jason Arcilla, debuts of Makana’s song “Lahainalalo,” and a recital by classical pianist Mahana Teave as part of a Wildfire Benefit Concert Series.

Coldwell Banker Commercial has been selected to oversee leasing and property management for Kukui Mall in Kīhei. The company aims to enhance the mall’s appeal and attract new tenants to fill remaining vacancies.

Sansei will occupy most of the freestanding restaurant building on the north side of Kukui Mall in Kīhei, and intends to open for business in early to mid 2019.

Coldwell Banker Island Properties announced that it is building a new branch and head office in Kukui Mall, Kihei. Opening is planned for late fall, 2018.

Houle Financial Corp, a local Maui company, has completed the purchase of Kukui Mall in Kīhei, and the return of a premium quality movie theater to south Maui.
