Lahaina Town Cleanup marks 20 years of community action for a cleaner coast

The 20th Annual Lahaina Town Cleanup takes place on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is held in conjunction with the Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup and Mālama Maui Nui’s “Get the Drift and Bag It!” campaign.

The Lahaina Town Cleanup returns for its 20th year on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cleanup is an opportunity for residents and visitors alike to join in a global effort to remove litter and debris from the coast.

Participants of today’s 19th Annual Lahaina Town Cleanup focus on ‘safe and accessible’ areas ‘wherever you are in the world’

“This year we invite you to do a cleanup in an area that is safe and accessible to you – wherever you are in the world,” encourages Tambara Garrick, LahainaTown Action Committee Board Member, “Lahaina Town is currently closed but that doesn’t mean you can’t make an impact for the environment.”

18th Annual Lahaina Town Cleanup seeks volunteers

Volunteers are being sought for the 18th Annual Lahaina Town Cleanup to be held Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022. Registration begins at 8 a.m., and the cleanup will be held from 8 a.m. to noon.

Volunteers with the 16th Annual Lahaina Town Cleanup collected a 1-ton trailer worth of debris much of which was from abandoned campsites along the West Maui shoreline.
