On heels of Lala, new tropical depression forms SE of Hawaiʻi
As Hawaiʻi continues to recover from the impacts of Lala, a new tropical system is forming southeast of the state. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph with higher gusts. Gradual strengthening is forecast, and the depression could become a tropical storm later today.
Molokaʻi schools added to April 10 closures; Oʻahu schools, Hanalei Elementary also affected
All HIDOE public schools on Molokaʻi will be closed Friday, April 10, due to expected severe weather conditions.

The NWS reports that flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. The greatest chance for impacts is tonight is on windward Big Island, windward Maui, and over Kauaʻi County.
