Update: Motorcycle accident at Ting’s Bridge claims life of Wailuku man

A preliminary police investigation reveals that a black 2023 Harley Davidson Sportster motorcycle was traveling west on West Kaʻahumanu Avenue when the motorcycle veered right over the solid white fog line, striking a curb and embankment before colliding head-on into the northeast corner of the Tings Bridge retaining wall.

Speed limit reduction along Kaʻahumanu Avenue takes effect March 22

The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation notifies Maui motorists of a speed limit change on Kaʻahumanu Avenue (Route 32) between Kainani Street/Lunalilo Street and Mile Marker 1.96 (vicinity of Mile Marker 2). The speed limit will be reduced from 45 mph to 35 mph in both directions. The speed limit signs will be changed on Wednesday, March 22.

40 Customers in Wailuku Without Water After Line Break

About 40 residential customers in Wailuku are without water service because of a broken waterline reported this morning. Affected customers include those on Liholiho Street between Lunalilo and Lihi streets.
