The film “Lahaina Rising” will be bringing home the Hawaiʻi International Film Festival’s Made in Hawaiʻi Award. The film will screen for the first time on Maui on Nov. 8 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents the Maui Showcase for the Hawai‘i International Film Festival (HIFF) with six feature films, one short film, and a collection of four ‘Made in Hawai‘i’ short films. All screenings will take place in the MACC’s McCoy Studio Theater starting Saturday, Oct. 19 and concluding Sunday, Oct. 20.

CocoNene, a local brand known for its made-in-Hawaiʻi products, opened its third Maui store on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at The Shops at Wailea.

CocoNene celebrated the grand opening Monday of its new store at the Kīhei Kalama Village. The store known for its made-in-Hawaiʻi products lost its flagship location on Front Street during the Aug. 8 Lahaina wildfire.

In the wake of the wildfires that devastated South Maui, the festival this year contributed $58.2K from ticket and t-shirt sales, as well as direct donations, to the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund. Vendors together donated approximately a quarter million dollars to Maui wildfire relief efforts. 

Mana Up and Hawaiian Airlines announces Season 3 of a live-streamed Meet the Makers series, bringing six new experiences highlighting Hawaiʻi-based companies and their unique products. The series kicks off with an episode highlighting Duke Kahanamoku, plus an episode featuring Maui Nui Venison and award-winning Chef Chris Kajioka. 

The 29th Annual Made in Hawaiʻi Festival will be held for the first time at the iconic Hawaiʻi Convention Center, Aug. 18-20, 2023. The three-day event will showcase made-in-Hawai‘i products, including products from vendors in Maui County.

Submissions open in February for the 2nd annual Made in Hawaiʻi Film Festival, happening on Hawaiʻi Island in June 2019.

Made in Hawaiʻi and made with aloha, Hawaiʻi truly offers products from the heart, capturing a priceless value that expresses the essence of the aloha spirit and the beauty of its maker.

Now in its second year, this popular event features over 140 vendors offering a wide variety of made-in-Hawai‘i products, including foods, produce, art, crafts, jewelry, fashion, gifts, collectibles and more all in one location at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului.

Tickets are available now for a special “Shoppers Preview” for the 2nd Annual Made in Maui County Festival, which will be held at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului on Friday, Nov. 6, between 2 and 6 p.m.

The participants include three companies from Molokai, and more than a dozen from Maui. County officials say an estimated 38,000 people are expected to attend the 19th Annual festival, which is known to attract retail buyers and distributors, who come to find new products unique to the islands.

Local producers on Maui are encouraged to apply for funding and booth space at the upcoming Made in Hawaiʻi Festival, scheduled for August 16 to 18, 2013 at the Neal S. Blaisdell Exhibition Hall on Oʻahu.
