All Maui County, O‘ahu, Kaua‘i and Hawaiʻi Island public schools closed Friday, March 13, in anticipation of severe weather
In alignment with Gov. Josh Green’s directive issued on March 12 in response to severe weather conditions impacting the state, the Hawaiʻi State Department of Education will implement the closure of all public schools and HIDOE offices on O‘ahu, Kaua‘i and in Maui County on Friday, March 13.

Gov. Josh Green, along with state emergency management and public safety officials, provided an update on the severe weather impacting Hawaiʻi. State offices and the Department of Education Schools on all islands will be closed on Monday, Feb. 9, 2026.
Maui County public schools to remain closed Friday due to severe weather
All Hawaiʻi Department of Education public schools in Maui County will remain closed to students and faculty on Friday, Jan. 31, based on the latest information from emergency management officials.
