All voters are reminded that voting closes at 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024. Voters must be in line at a voter service center, or their voted ballots must be received by the deadline, not postmarked, to be counted. At 18 years old, I now have the right and privilege to persuade and influence through the power of my vote.

The Kula Community Association (KCA) hosts a Candidate Forum on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Kula Community Center. This event will feature candidates running for Senate, House, and Maui County Council offices covering nine races. The event offers a platform for candidates to present their views and respond to questions.

Voter service centers open today on Maui and Molokaʻi. Centers in Hāna and on Lānaʻi have limited hours. The complete schedule is posted here.

The West Maui Taxpayers Association hosts a General Candidates Night, tonight, Oct. 13, 2022. The event features a meet and greet at 3:30 p.m. at the Lahaina Civic Center Social Hall, followed by the program which begins at 5 p.m., and a broadcast at 5:30 p.m. on Akakū.

In Maui County total turnout was 50,475 or 52.2% of the 96,721 registered voters.

COMPAC has released its list of  “business-friendly” endorsements for the 2018 U.S. Senate and House, governor, mayor and Maui County Council races.

Registered voters may visit any early walk-in voting location within their county to cast their ballot from Oct. 23 through Nov. 3, 2018.

The General Contractors Association of Hawaii has endorsed Gov. David Ige and Dr. Josh Green for the 2018 General Election.

Some political signs seem excessively large. Aren’t there regulations the candidates have to follow?

I went to do my early voting yesterday and I realized that there was not a flag to be seen in front of the courthouse or county buildings.

Walk-in voting on Maui and Molokai has begun for the General Election, and will continue through Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016.

I checked the county website and didn’t see a date.

Early voting for the 2016 primary elections got underway on Monday with early walk-in voting at the county clerk’s office in Wailuku and at the Mitchell Pauole Center on Molokaʻi.

Alika Atay is a candidate for the Maui Council’s Wailuku seat. His was also a vocal player in the SHAKA Movement’s efforts for a moratorium on Maui GMO crops.

State House of Representatives candidate Deidre Tegarden chose the Kihei Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall as the site of her official entry into the race on Monday, Feb. 29.

The Friends of Keith Regan invites the community to a St. Patrick’s Day Celebration with County Council Candidate Keith Regan on Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Maui Beach Hotel.

The fundraiser will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 23, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Yokouchi Estate off of Koeli Street in Wailuku.

The newly reformed Young Democrats of Maui County invites the public to view a live stream of the Democratic presidential debate on Sunday Jan. 17, 2016, at 4 p.m. at the MEDB Malcolm Center in Kīhei.
