West Maui YMCA Resource Center applies for Certificate of Occupancy

Maui Family YMCA has applied for a Certificate of Occupancy for the new West Maui YMCA Resource Center.  Renovations to the 6,500-square-foot facility located at  226 Kupuohi Street in Lahaina have been completed and have successfully passed all required inspections.  The Center is anticipated to open in mid-September.

Kaiser Permanente expands access to health services for Hawaiʻi’s youth

Kaiser Permanente Hawaiʻi has awarded grants totaling $60,000 to two local nonprofits dedicated to supporting the emotional, mental, and social well-being of vulnerable youth and their families in Hawaiʻi. The YMCA of Honolulu received $30,000, and Kids Hurt Too Hawaiʻi received $30,000. 

Maui Summer Youth Program Extended to Aug. 14; Still Only $10 Per Week for Families

Mayor Michael Victorino announced that the County of Maui’s summer youth program has been extended another two weeks until Aug. 14 to assist families impacted by the delay of school openings.

Kids’ Triathlon Open to Public at YMCA

The Maui Family YMCA is hosting a swim-bike-run triathlon on April 7 for kids ages five to 12, along with Healthy Kids Day festivities on April 21.

Maui YMCA Launches ‘There’s No Place Like the Y’ Campaign

Playing off the “Wizard of Oz,” the Maui Family YMCA will hold a community support campaign kickoff event on Friday, Mar. 13, with the theme “There’s No Place Like the Y.”

Maui Family YMCA Adopts Worksite Wellness Policy

The work-site wellness initiative features a vending machine at the facility that sells fresh fruit, yogurt, water and healthy sandwiches from Whole Foods. There’s also a Y Produce Express program which provides free delivery of fresh produce from local farms on a weekly basis.
