The recent drenching rains took a respite Saturday evening as 260 attendees gathered at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center to honor state Sen. Troy Hashimoto at Maui Economic Opportunity’s 7th Annual Gala, the nonprofit’s largest fundraiser of the year.

Maui Economic Opportunity assisted 20,239 individuals and families and touched 46,971 lives in the 2022-23 fiscal year, according to the recently released “Respond, Respect, Recover: Maui Economic Opportunity Annual Report 2023.”

Maui Economic Opportunity’s 5th Annual Gala: A Nite At The Movies will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., Saturday, March 25, at the King Kamehameha Golf Club.

More than 250 attendees of Maui Economic Opportunity’s “We are ‘Ohana” Gala fundraiser, enjoyed a night of Hawaiian music and entertainment by Jeff Peterson and Amy Hānaiali‘i, as they learned about the breadth of the nonprofit agency’s reach.

Maui County Mayor Michael Victorino was honored by Maui Economic Opportunity during the organization’s fundraising gala, held Saturday night, Aug. 28.

The virtual event will be livestreamed on the MEO website, Facebook page and Zoom from 6 to 7:30 p.m. A concert by Nevah Too Late and a ceremony for guest of honor, Maui County Mayor Michael Victorino, will highlight the evening.

The “. . . Do What Is Right” Maui Economic Opportunity Gala, which has been postponed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is now set for 5:30 to 9 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021, at the King Kamehameha Golf Club in Waikapu – if pandemic protocols permit.

Sen. Roz Baker has served for over 25 years, advocating for issues that affect quality of life, and has been a “staunch supporter of MEO’s mission and work.”
