Maui County unemployment drops to 3.4% in December 2024

Here in Maui County, the not-seasonally adjusted rate for the county was 3.4% in December, compared to 3.7% in November and 5.6% in December of the previous year.

The non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for Maui Island was 3.7% in May 2024, compared to 4.3% the previous month, and 2.5% at the same time in 2023. The data was included in a new report released today from the Hawaiʻi Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism.

Data from the Hawai‘i State Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism showed Maui County’s unemployment rate for August 2022 was 3.9%, down from 4.2% the previous month and 6.7% a year ago.
