A Haʻikū man suffered fatal injuries in a motorcycle accident on Piʻiholo Road Wednesday night.

Emergency responders are on the scene of a motor vehicle accident in Makawao. Video from the scene at around 7:38 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026, shows a vehicle that appears to have collided with a motorcycle near the intersection of Makawao Avenue and Baldwin Avenue. An ambulance, police and fire units are responding. Further details are pending release.

As a result of the collision, the Yamaha operator, a 33-year-old Makawao woman, was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained critical, life-threatening injuries. She was transported to Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition, where she succumbed to her injuries.

A preliminary police investigation reveals that a black 2022 Harley Davidson PCMC, operated by a 37-year-old Wailuku male, was traveling northbound on Piʻilani Highway, weaving through the center delineators within the construction zone, when he lost control and was ejected onto the roadway.

A Kahului man suffered fatal injuries in a motorcycle accident in Haʻikū on Monday. Maui police have since identified the victim as 64-year-old Dean Line Sr.

Maui Police have identified the motorcyclist killed in an afternoon crash on Dairy Road today as Jerome Armstrong, 40, of Lahaina.

Police say the man was not wearing a helmet, and speed was a factor in the crash. An autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death.
