US Senator Mazie K. Hirono (D-HI) announced the official release of the new Patsy T. Mink quarter, which is part of the US Mint’s American Women Quarters Program for 2024.

The State Central Committee, the governing body for the Democratic Party of Hawai‘i, voted in Adrian Tam as their new interim Party Chair at a special meeting that was held on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023.

The late US Congresswoman, Patsy Takemoto Mink of Maui, is among five women being featured on a new US quarter design.  The design was unveiled this week by the US Mint.

The US Mint today announced that its 2024 American Women Quarters collection will include a quarter honoring Rep. Patsy T. Mink of Maui, the first woman to represent Hawaiʻi in the US Congress and the first woman of color to serve in Congress. A separate commemorative quarter honoring Edith Kanakaʻole, is scheduled to be put into circulation later this year.

Making its Hawaiʻi premiere at the 2022 Hawaiʻi International Film Festival, MINK! chronicles the remarkable story of Patsy Mink and her harrowing mission to co-author and defend Title IX, all told by her daughter Wendy.

Title IX is the historic federal legislation co-sponsored by Hawaiʻi’s Patsy Mink that opened the doors for women’s athletics at universities across the United States.

Think Mink strives to make a difference with design by supporting the next generation of social justice scholars, lawyers, and lawmakers. 100% of the proceeds from Think Mink merchandise will go to the Patsy Takemoto Mink Endowed Chair for Law and Social Justice at the University of Hawaiʻi.

The portrait of the late Congresswoman from Hawaiʻi, Patsy Mink, was unveiled today in the US Capitol during a ceremony to celebrate her legendary life and the 50th anniversary of her trailblazing legislation, Title IX.

University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa law student Keoni Williams was named the 2022 Patsy Takemoto Mink Legislative Fellow.

Sen. Mazie K. Hirono (D-HI) and Rep. Doris Matsui (D-CA) reintroduced the bicameral Patsy T. Mink and Louise M. Slaughter Gender Equity in Education Act — legislation that would provide additional resources, training and technical assistance to combat harassment and discrimination in education. Mink was a Maui native.

In the years following the passage of Title IX, a lawmaker, coach and team captain in Hawai‘i fought for the rights of young women to play sports.

Two female student-athletes attending James Campbell High School on Oʻahu filed a class action lawsuit in federal court on Thursday against the DOE and the OIA.

State Senate incumbent Roz Baker recently received an endorsement from the Patsy T. Mink Political Action Committee. Baker is seeking re-election to the 6th Senatorial District of South and West Maui.
