Hawaiʻi Rotary Youth Foundation offers $5000 Scholarships to Maui high school graduates 

Eight Maui Rotary clubs are offering a $5,000 scholarship award to a deserving high school graduate this year.

Applicants sought for Josh and Souk Foundation college scholarships

Josh Jerman of Hawaii Life Real Estate Brokers is offering five student scholarships of $1,000 each through the Josh and Souk Jerman Foundation Scholarship program. The foundation aims to encourage college-bound students to use their education to benefit Maui County.

Binhi at Ani to award 26 scholarships to the Class of 2024

Maui nonprofit Binhi at Ani will award scholarships to 26 Maui County students in the Class of 2024. The three top-rated students will receive $2,000 while 23 students will receive $1,000.

Ten Students Receive 2024 Bayer Hawaiʻi Life Sciences Scholarship

A total of 10 Hawaiʻi students have received the 2024 Bayer Hawaiʻi Life Sciences Scholarship.  Recipients are: Alyssa Pong (Mililani High School), Anica Ancheta (H.P. Baldwin High School), Emily Hegrenes (Lahainaluna High School), Kielyn Guzman (Maui High School), Kylie Lucas (Pearl City High School), Madison Strand (King Kekaulike High School), Maia Payne (Kalaheo High School), Mailani Higa (Aiea High School), Tara Zamani (Kīhei Charter High School), and Stephanie Lee (Kalani High School).

Realtors Association of Maui Community Foundation awards $30,000 to 30 Maui students

The Realtors Association of Maui Community Foundation recently awarded $1,000 scholarships to 30 students from Maui County. These scholarships are part of RAMCF’s ongoing commitment to support the educational pursuits of Maui’s youth, fostering the next generation of leaders and professionals.

Kīhei Charter School seniors take on projects to better the community after the Maui wildfires

Four students graduating from Kīhei Charter School have taken on different challenges posed by the Maui wildfires and other statewide issued in their Senior Graduation Defense presentations. Seniors—Taylor Guindon, Tara Zamani, Sundi King and Claire Eller—presented respective projects on wildfire prevention policies, microbe research in the fire aftermath, stories of resilience from wildfire survivors, and an ʻŌhiʻa restoration project sparked by a visit to Hawaiʻi Island.

Maui College scholar chosen to present post-wildfire biomedical study at national conference in Washington D.C.

Deardorff will present “Microbes as Human Indicators of Human Health Risk after the Lahaina Wildfires” to an audience of biomedical professionals at the 2024 National IDeA Symposium of Biomedical Research Excellence (NISBRE) Conference in June.
