Final agreement reached on UH faculty contract
The University of Hawaiʻi faculty have finalized their contract for the next two years, with overwhelming support, the UH Professional Assembly announced on Friday.
UH regents select Wendy Hensel as next UH President
The University of Hawaiʻi Board of Regents voted to appoint Wendy Hensel as the next president of the UH 10-campus system, the state’s sole provider of public higher education. The 11 regents voted unanimously for Hensel at the Thursday, Oct. 17 continuation of the Oct. 16 Special BOR Meeting at UH Mānoa.

The public events for Julian Vasquez Heilig, one of the two finalists for president of the University of Hawaiʻi 10-campus system, begin today, Monday, Sept. 30. Vasquez Heilig will be at UH Maui College this morning. Public events for fellow finalist Wendy Hansel were held the week of Sept. 23.

National recruitment for next UH president to begin in late May
The national recruitment for the next president of the University of Hawaiʻi 10-campus system will officially begin in late May 2024 after the UH Board of Regents approved the position description and leadership profile at its May 16 monthly meeting.
