Affected areas include customers on the Hāna Highway from Ai Street to the intersection of Baldwin Avenue. Personnel from the Maui Department of Water Supply are repairing the main line, and water service is expected to be restored at approximately 10 a.m.

A portion of Kahului is without water this afternoon due to a waterline break of an 8-inch line on Oʻahu Street in Kahului, county officials confirmed.

Water customers in Upcountry, Maui are being urged to conserve water following a waterline break caused by heavy rains earlier today. Jacky Takakura, Administrative Officer for the Maui Department of Water Supply said the 12-inch waterline washed out during the heavy rains in the area.

As of noon, crews were no longer on site, and repairs were no longer impacting traffic on Papa Avenue.

At around 3 p.m., officials from the Water Department say the repair job is estimated to take approximately five hours.

Crews from the Department of Water Supply are on scene, working to repair a crack on a six-inch waterline near the 100-block of Hana Highway in Paia.
