The state’s construction industry posted its second-strongest first quarter in the past decade, with total spending reaching approximately $2.09 billion, according to the Quarterly Hawaiʻi Construction Market Update released by Pacific Resource Partnership.

American Savings Bank and aio have announced the start of the second cohort for the Hui Kapili Accelerator, following a successful first cohort.

The Construction Industry of Maui announced that its annual golf tournament raised $65,000 to support construction trade programs in Maui County high schools. Held at The Dunes at Maui Lani Golf Course on Sept. 28, the event brought together 140 golfers, 25 students from Maui County high schools along with their teachers, and 20 volunteers for a day of community spirit and support for the next generation of construction industry leaders.

This year, the organization raised an estimated $60,000, which will be split into two $30,000 scholarships, to be awarded to selected candidates in the Class of 2023.

The Construction Industry of Maui is offering $20,000 scholarships to two students attending a high school on Maui who are entering a 2- or 4-year degree program in construction, engineering, landscaping, architecture and/or other design fields. The deadline is May 1 to apply.
