The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation is notifying the public of upcoming intermittent road closures at mile marker 19.5 on Hāna Highway (Route 360), for rock scaling work.

There will be intermittent road closures at mile marker 14.9 on Hāna Highway for rock scaling work next week, according to the state Department of Transportation.

Tuesday night closures on Honoapiʻilani Highway for rock scaling and removal

Crews will be removing a boulder caught in the protective netting and also performing rock scaling and other rock removal work from 9 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 20 to 4:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 21. The work will be between mileposts 10.45 to 10.55 on the Lahaina side of the Olowalu Tunnel, also known as the “Pali Tunnel.” The road will be intermittently closed in both directions for up to 10 minutes.

SLOPE DEBRIS REMOVAL ON HANA HIGHWAY

The state Department of Transportation begins work today (Tuesday, April 14, 2009) to remove loose debris from a portion of the Hana Highway.  Rock scaling operations will take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.  Motorists can expect traffic stoppages near mile post 21 in Wailuanui while work is in progress.  Roadwork is weather-permitting.
