Cold front brings gusty winds and bouts of rainfall

A front rapidly approaching Kauaʻi from the northwest will move down the island chain today and tonight, delivering gusty west to northwest winds, brief bouts of heavy rainfall, and cool conditions, according to the National Weather Service.

The Coast Guard continues to respond to vessels that ran aground near Lahaina, Maui on Monday and Sugar Beach, Maui on Tuesday.

The next front is forecast to deliver another round of gusty showers Thursday into Friday, with yet another round of showers forecast to potentially move through next week Tuesday.

Police believe that speed and impairment are possible factors in the crash. The 31-year-old was also not wearing his seat belt.
