“Fast Track” Approval Sought for Senior Housing Project in Pukalani

The county Department of Housing and Human Concerns is proposing the construction of the Hale Maha‘olu ʻEwalu Senior Residential Housing Project on four acres of land within the Kulamalu Commercial subdivision developed by the Dowling Company.

Maui Police Issue 60 Citations For Violations of “Move Over Law”

Over the past two weeks, while police were actively participating in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, officers with the DUI Task Force issued more than 60 citations to motorists for violating the “Move Over Law,” according to Maui police Sergeant Nick Krau.

Arrest Made in Maui Meth Trafficking Investigation

Maui police arrested two Waiehu men on bench warrants following a drug investigation by the Department’s Crime Reduction Unit. Chester Mahuna, 59, was arrested and charged with first degree Methamphetamine Trafficking and was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Maui Crime Log: 24 Burglaries, 17 Vehicle Break-ins

Maui police responded to 24 burglaries, 10 vehicle thefts, and 17 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period, between August 17 to 23, 2014. Of the 10 vehicle thefts, five vehicles have since been recovered.
