Big Island police have initiated a custodial interference case in connection with a nine-year-old boy who was taken in by a Puna family overnight after the child ran away from home on Wednesday, March 14, 2012.

Alleged Attempted Use of Stolen Credit at Kahului Walmart
The allegations stem from an October 2, 2011 incident in which authorities say the three persons entered the Walmart store in Kahului and attempted to purchase items with a stolen credit card. According to authorities, the credit card was stolen from a Wailuku home.
