Maui police arrest 13-year-old for alleged threat at Kalama; Investigation remains active at Baldwin and ʻĪao schools

A 13-year-old girl was arrested for Terroristic Threatening in connection with a threat at Kalama Intermediate School. The investigation remains ongoing and active for the other affected campuses where alleged threats occurred.

Hawaiʻi bill to lower legal blood-alcohol concentration limit for driving moves to final vote in House

Earlier this month, the House Committee on Transportation passed HB 1935, with amendments to lower the legal blood alcohol concentration for driving from 0.08% to 0.05%.

There were a total of 2,141 whales observed throughout the main Hawaiian Islands during the day’s count with 948 whales observed from Maui, 86 from Molokaʻi and 39 from Lānaʻi. On Kaua‘i, the total number of whales observed during the count was 239, on O‘ahu, the total was 363, and on Hawai‘i Island, 466 whales were observed.
