Mālama Maui Nui announces the 2023 Art of Trash and Trashion Show hosted by Maui Mall Village on Saturday, April 8, 2023.

“The Art of Trash Exhibition and Trashion Shows are annual, juried events that inspire community members to reimagine our resources, such as previously used materials, as elements for creative inspiration. All pieces are original work made from recycled and/or reused material.

This interactive virtual gallery will be open for one month and will premiere on Earth Day (April 22) on the Mālama Maui Nui website.

More than 150 Maui County residents attended The 2017 Art of Trash Show opening night

In celebration of Earth Day, the Annual Art of Trash Exhibit and Trashion Show will return on April 8. The Art of Trash exhibit will be on display through April 30 at the Maui Mall in Ste. B.

The deadline for submissions to Art of Trash 2016, a juried exhibit of creations made from reusable materials, is Saturday, April 2, at Maui Mall in the retail space across from Thailand Cuisine.

Here on Maui, local affiliate, Mālama Maui Nui conducted beach cleanups and educational events. The group is now gearing up for ‘Get the Drift and Bag It’, the next cleanup campaign that focuses on protecting oceans, waterways, and marine wildlife from trash and debris as part of the International Coastal Cleanup on September 19, 2015.
