Only Aloha Here is set to launch its latest collection, “Hoʻoilo,” with a public fashion show and exclusive shopping experience on Sunday, March 23, at 4 p.m. The event will also celebrate the grand opening of Public House Provisions, a new retail space located behind Makawao Public House, dedicated to showcasing local creators.

Maui was represented well with high school students from H.P. Baldwin, Maui High School and Lahainaluna earning gold, bronze and silver awards in art, media, and photography at the annual Pele Awards event.

Maui-based graphic designer, Wailani Artates of Artistry8, was among those recognized for outstanding designs during the annual Pele Awards held on Saturday, May 6 in Waikīkī.

In collaboration, Kūlua Maui, Artistry8, + Swag Hawaiʻi present PAHU PIHA, a free and fun activity pahu (box) for spring break to learn and teach your keiki to make lei using sustainable scrap fabric from Kūlua studio located in Makawao town. 

Maui-based design firm Sae Design Group took home six Pele Awards; while fellow Maui designer Artistry8 earned two awards; and Daryl Fujiwara, Zeno Design Studio and Naish International took home one award each.

Maui’s own Wailani Artates, of Artistry8, brings home her third Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award for the graphics design of Nāpua Greig’s album cover, “Makawalu.”
