Public invited to Central Maui Community Plan open house, April 4 in Wailuku
The County of Maui Department of Planning is inviting community members to attend the first open house for the Central Maui Community Plan process. The event will take place on Friday, April 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Wailuku parking garage during the Wailuku First Friday celebration.

Maui Planning Commission members breezed by a proposed policy statement in the draft South Maui Community Plan update Tuesday evening, agreeing by consensus that the plan would aim to increase long-term residential housing by phasing-out short-term rentals from Māʻalaea to Kanaio.

Discussion begins on South Maui CPAC selection and application process
The County Charter and Chapter 2.80B, Maui County Code, direct the appointment of the CPAC for each community plan area. Committee members are appointed to provide resident input in the planning process. CPAC members provide guidance on local issues that influence the physical, social, and economic development of their community and are charged with reviewing and recommending revisions to update the Community Plan.
We Are South Maui Website Launches Public Engagement Activity Through End of Year
