18 new corrections officers graduate from basic recruit training

The Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation welcomed a new class of 18 adult corrections officers during a graduation ceremony on Friday. The new corrections officers completed training and will begin their careers in facilities across the state, including three at the Maui Community Correctional Center in Wailuku.

10 inmates from Waiawa Correctional Facility earn community college culinary certificates

Ten inmates from the Waiawa Correctional Facility received Kapi‘olani Community College Culinary Arts certificates Thursday June 13, 2024. If any of the students opt to further their education, 14 credits earned from the program will appear in their University of Hawai‘i transcripts.
