The January 2018 edition of Wailuku First Friday takes place Friday, Jan. 5, 2018.

The October 2017 edition of Wailuku First Friday takes place tonight, Friday, Oct. 6, 2017.

This free family event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Market Street. Admission is free and all are welcome.

The June 2017 edition of Wailuku First Friday takes place this Friday, June 2, 2017, with the theme “Endless Summer.”

The theme for this week’s Wailuku First Friday event is Christmas in Wailuku. The monthly event is slated for Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 from 6 to 9 p.m. on Market Street.

Wailuku First Friday town party is tomorrow night, this month’s theme is “Uptown GetDown 8,” featuring a 2-on-2 B-boy Battle, live music, beer tents, shopping and more!

There will be no Wailuku First Friday, Jan. 1, 2016. Organizers say they will put a pause on the monthly event for January in observance of New Years, but will be back in February.

Maui residents and visitors alike are invited to greet the Chinese New Year, The Year of the Ram, with fireworks and Steve Catugal’s Lion Dancers on Market Street at Wailuku First Friday on Feb. 6 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Wailuku First Fridays will feature a full lineup of music, food, activities, and crafts this Friday, Jan. 2, to greet the new year. Local musician Willie K. will perform with the Deborah Vial Band on the Maui Thing stage starting at 7:30 p.m.

The evening includes the launch of new banners, a new website, and a new brand and image for Wailuku Town. The “Small Town Big Changes” unveiling will take place at 7:15 p.m. at the Maui Thing stage with Maui Mayor Alan Arakawa.

The free mystery concert and models will take to the runway fronting the store on Market Street, wearing Maui Thing’s new summer line, themed “Alive.” In keeping with the theme, store owners say the show will go through a life cycle of its own, with the unveiling of the new designs and models, a reflection of brightness after death, and coming full circle with a rebirth.

The event, titled “Maui Pride,” begins at 6:15 p.m. on July 6, featuring entertainment by Na Hoku Hanohano award winner Willie K., who will rock Market Street with a live concert.

After six months of planning, the County of Maui officially rolled out its new Maui Friday Town Parties initiative during a press conference on Wednesday.

The Maui town party schedule starting November 4th will be as follows: Wailuku – First Friday, Lahaina – Second Friday, Makawao – Third Friday, Paia – Fourth Friday.
