Maui County Council honors DII football champions, Kamehameha Schools Maui

Introduced by Council Vice-Chair Yuki Lei Sugimura, the resolution recognizes the second consecutive state title in football for Kamehameha Schools Maui.  

KSM Hawaiian Ensemble featured in November Hawaiian Music Series, Nov. 20

The Lahaina Restoration Foundation announced the November edition of the Hawaiian Music Series, featuring a special performance by the talented Kamehameha Schools Maui Hawaiian Ensemble. The free concert will take place on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, at 6 p.m. on the Ocean Lawn of the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa in Kāʻanapali, with free validated self-parking available.

Josh and Souk Jerman Foundation awards six academic scholarships

Six Maui County high school seniors have been awarded $1,000 each by the Josh and Souk Jerman Foundation Scholarship program. This year’s recipients are (top l-r) Kaili McMillin of Seabury Hall, Maya Phillips of Seabury Hall, Gigi Cabanting of Seabury Hall, (bottom l-r) Crystal Hoffman of Molokaʻi High School, Chaysen Tanaka of Kamehameha Schools Maui, and Joshua Mori of Maui High School.

Students say the mural was created with the hopes that visitors and residents alike properly treat the land and water with respect and understand its importance.   The ‘ōlelo no’eau (Hawaiian Proverb) that is on the mural reads, “I ola ‘oe, i ola mākou nei”, “My life is dependent on yours; your life is dependent on mine.”

Founder’s Day Virtual Tribute Brings Together Kamehameha Schools Community

Kamehameha Schools’ annual Founder’s Day service turned into a virtual commemoration this year, marking Bernice Pauahi Bishop’s birthday on Saturday, Dec. 19.
