Local residents and organizations are invited to participate in an event at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 2. This event aims to match individuals in need of temporary or permanent housing with state, federal and local organizations assisting individuals and families in need of housing support.

AARP Hawaiʻi today announced grants totaling $625,000 from AARP Foundation that will go to local organizations providing relief assistance to older victims of the recent Maui wildfires.

The US Foundation of the American College of Trial Lawyers donated $75,000 to the Legal Aid Society of Hawaiʻi for wildfire disaster legal assistance.

Today the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement opened its Kākoʻo Maui Resource Hub at Maui Mall located at 70 Ka‘ahumanu Avenue in Kahului. The resource hub will focus on providing a cultural approach to help those impacted by the fires best navigate the application process for aid and services.

The Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement will open the Kākoʻo Maui Resource Hub on Monday, Sept. 4, 2023 at the Maui Mall in Kahului, providing a cultural approach for streamlined access to aid and services to fire victims. The hub will be managed by Lahaina resident, Kukui Keahi who lost both her home and job as a result of the fires.

Lahaina District Court cases and services are being addressed at Hoapili Hale, the main courthouse in Wailuku located at 2145 Main St.  

A total of 27 individuals were assisted in filling out their US citizenship applications, an arduous process that could take as long as two hours, at a Citizenship Clinic on June 24 at Maui Economic Opportunity in Wailuku.

The Self-Help Centers were established more than a decade ago as part of the State Judiciary’s commitment to increasing access to justice in the courts.

The County of Maui Department of Housing and Human Concerns is presenting a series of free online training seminars on fair housing in April. Seminar participants are limited to 1,000 attendees per session and prospective participants must register by March 29, 2021.
