County of Maui Disaster Area Restrictions will be lifted for owners and residents with vehicle passes from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting, on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 11-12, in Zones 9A, 9B, 11A, 12A and 12C. Some residential and commercial properties in these zones have been deferred by the EPA for health and safety reasons and will not be open for re-entry until further notice.

County of Maui Disaster Area Restrictions will be lifted for owners and residents beginning Friday and Saturday, Dec. 1-2, for Zones 11B, 11D, 11E, 11F and 13D. Those with vehicle passes will be granted access from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting.

County of Maui Disaster Area Restrictions will be lifted for owners and residents with vehicle passes from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 27-28, in Zones 11C and 12B.

Mayor Michael Victorino announced today that the County of Maui’s acquisition of the Lahaina Crossroads Apartment Building on Luakini St. is final. 

The new project is located at the intersection of Front and Prison streets in Lahaina, with construction slated to start on Tuesday, June 12, 2012.

Alternative locations to be discussed include: a location adjoining the Lahaina harbor, the parking lot across from Kamehameha III Elementary School, the parking lot across from 505 Front Street, a site near the Lahaina Aquatic Center, and a property near the former Pioneer Mill.

The direction of traffic flow on Luakini Street in Lahaina will be changed on Monday to address safety issues involving passengers of the Maui Bus.

Committee members are considering a proposal to reverse the traffic flow on Luakini Street. Moving the bus stop could also be considered as an option.
