Maui police thank the public following successful recovery of baby in custodial case
Maui police extended thanks to media partners and the community for their assistance in locating a missing infant who was the subject of a county-wide Maile Amber Alert search and custodial interference case.
UPDATED/LOCATED: Maile Amber Alert canceled for missing/endangered 3-month-old child Hoku Nui Pueo Wada
UPDATE/LOCATED: Nadira Rosado and her son have been located. Police say the baby, 3-month-old Hoku Nui Pueo Wada, is in good health. The Maile Amber Alert is canceled as of 6:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 3, 2023.
Man accused of kidnapping teen girl on Hawaiʻi island is charged
The 52-year-old suspect was charged with two counts each of kidnapping, first degree terroristic threatening, first degree robbery, and one count each of methamphetamine trafficking and first degree sex assault.

Update/located: Maile Amber Alert issued for missing teen Mikella Debina
A Maile Amber Alert was issued for 15-year-old Mikella Debina, who was last seen about 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 16, in the area of Anaeho’omalu Bay near Waikoloa Beach Drive on Hawaiʻi Island. Police have reason to believe the girl was abducted and issued the alert overnight.

A bill that expands the AMBER Alert system to include all US territories passed in the US Senate. It was co-authored by Sen. Schatz of Hawai‘i.
