Maui police say an unknown adult male forcefully entered a jewelry store in Pāʻia at approximately 2:55 a.m. on March 30, 2020, and allegedly removed multiple items estimated at over $100,000. The male suspect, later identified by Maui Police as Chase Mociun, 37, of Kīhei was arrested and charged for Burglary of a Building in a Civil Defense Emergency, Theft I and Criminal Conspiracy.  Due to County of Maui being in a Disaster Emergency Relief Period, police say the Burglary of a Building becomes a “B” Felony.

Maui police apprehended Keala Baker, a 33-year-old man with no local address, who was wanted for multiple warrants and was suspected of committing a number of other criminal acts for which he was being investigated.

Maui police are searching for the suspects in a smash and grab at the Central Maui Gold and Loan. 

Crystal Thompson was arrested in the early morning hours on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019 in West Maui following a report of a burglary at a home on Front Street.

Wong-Sato is also a suspect in another similar burglary which occurred the same night, in the same area. The resident posted security video of the incident to social media.

The individual appeared to be in their early 30’s and was seen carrying crowbars, two of which have been recovered, according to police reports.

On Nov. 11, 2015 at around 5 p.m. three male victims visiting from California, returned to their vacation residence in Mākena and noticed that several items had been taken from within.

The burglar(s) gained access by smashing through the front glass doors with a sedan type vehicle.

The total number of burglaries, vehicle break-ins/thefts and vehicle thefts reported this week was 66; three less than reported during the previous week.

The Waiehu Pro Shop at the Waiehu Golf Course was burglarized on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, at approximately 9:18 p.m. An undetermined amount of cash and property were taken.
