The Friends of Haleakalā National Park has awarded three $2,000 scholarships to students pursuing studies and careers in environmental science and conservation in Hawaiʻi.

Three Hawaiian language immersion students from Ke Kula Kaiapuni ʻo Kekaulike on Maui are calling on the community to help raise $12,000 to represent Hawai‘i at the 2025 National ʻŌlelo Hawai‘i Showcase in Washington, D.C., this June.

Participants engaged with industry professionals and took part in hands-on activities to explore potential career pathways.

The program provides scholarships to students attending the University of Hawai’i system and affiliated community colleges.
