Roots School was recently awarded a $10,000 grant from the Atherton Family Foundation to further strengthen its English Language Arts program. This funding will enhance early literacy instruction in the classroom and expand targeted, in-school support for students who need it most.

Roots School in Haʻikū recently received a $5,000 grant from the Bank of Hawaiʻi Foundation. The grant will support the school’s Performing Arts Program.

After diverting nearly 2,000 pounds of textile waste from the landfill last year, The Sewing Hui, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to sewing for the Maui community, is expanding its efforts this year with new educational programs, deeper sustainability goals, and a growing island-wide impact.

Pacific Business News recently named Roots School in Haʻikū as one of Hawaiʻi’s Best Workplaces, the school announced. Roots was one out of 11 total honorees in the Small Business (10-24 employees) category. 

Roots School in Haʻikū will be hosting an Open House for prospective new families of children entering kindergarten through fifth grade, on Saturday, March 8 from 1 to 3 p.m.

Roots School in Haʻikū received a $30,000 grant as part of the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation’s inaugural CHANGE Framework Grants Program.

“This year our operating costs have increased, and the generosity of these organizations is inspiring.”

The Roots School in Ha’ikū will be hosting an open house on Sept. 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
