The Coast Guard suspended its search at 7 p.m. Monday for an overdue boater west of Oʻahu. The missing 61-year-old man departed on a fishing trip early Wednesday morning and was reportedly last seen fishing near the Waiʻanae coast off the southwest side of Oʻahu. 

The search for a missing snorkeler off of Kāʻanapali ended at nightfall on Monday after three days.  The missing man, John Weems, 75, of North Carolina was reported missing late Friday afternoon, when he failed to return from snorkeling off Kāʻanapali Beach.  

Weems was reported missing by a concerned family member on the evening of Friday, May 8, 2026, after he failed to return from going snorkeling in the area of 100 Nohea Kai Drive in Kāʻanapali.  Weems had texted a family member at 1:30 p.m., indicating he was going snorkeling, and at approximately 3 p.m., a guest reported to hotel staff that they had observed what appeared to be a male in distress in the ocean. 

The three-day multiagency search for a missing Kauaʻi man was suspended following the discovery of human remains in waters off Kahili Beach on Saturday afternoon.

Missing is Matthew Kai’mana Packard-Asai, 19, who was last seen fishing on the rocks near the northern point of Kahili Beach. He is approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall with black hair and wearing a black hat, black shorts and black shirt. 

Missing is Jared Willeford, 42, who was seen launching a yellow kayak at approximately 8 a.m. on Sunday offshore from Keauhou on Hawaiʻi Island.

The Coast Guard suspended its search at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday for two teens who went missing off the North Shore of Oʻahu. Missing are Samantha Chun, 17, and Joey Fujioka, 18, who were last seen on Ke Iki Beach near Sharks Cove late Friday night.

An ocean search is underway for a missing swimmer off of the “Cliffhouse” area of Kapalua in West Maui. Crews were called to the scene at 3:38 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 20, 2023, in response to a report of a 42-year-old California man, who was washed out in rough conditions after jumping from the rocks into the ocean.

Jerry Morgan, 63, of Kula was reported missing on Wednesday night Oct. 4, 2023 by his family, after failing to return home from kayaking earlier in the day.

Officials describe the missing woman as 67 years old and say she is from California. The woman was snorkeling in relatively calm seas with good visibility at the time of her disappearance.

The US Coast Guard and Maui county partners are searching for a missing 45 year-old man with red hair last seen offshore Hāmoa Beach in Hāna, Maui. He was last seen wearing blue shorts.

The 52-year-old spearfisherman from Hāna, Maui had gone missing on Friday in waters off of Pāʻia. Crews conducted 35 searches covering 621 square nautical miles over the past three days.  

The Coast Guard launched the search for a 62-year-old woman who was kayaking in a pink kayak when weather separated her from a friend who was also kayaking.

An adrift dive float found was just offshore of La Perouse Bay, Maui on Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, prompting a search of the area.

The body of a missing Kahului fisherman was recovered at around 9:22 a.m. about a mile west from where he fell into the water at the Pokowai Sea Arch in Kahikinui late Friday night.

The Coast Guard is seeking the public’s help in identifying the owner of a dive float found approximately 500 yards off Mākena Landing Beach Park, Maui, Wednesday.

The search is underway today for a missing free diver near the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. The search was launched early this morning (Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015) for the man in his 50s after two friends filed a report at 2:40 a.m.
