Holidays For Lahaina along with the help of donors, have organized a Christmas For Lahaina celebration. The event will take place on Thursday, Dec, 21, 2023, at 6 p.m., at The Ritz Carlton, Kapalua, West Maui. The event is NOT open to the public.

County of Maui Disaster Area Restrictions have been lifted for business in Zone 5A, which is the Old Lahaina Lūʻau anchored parcel along Front Street. Access is via the Lahaina Cannery Mall through the Keawe Street entrance only. All other entrance points are blocked off.

Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa was named the Best Hotel in Hawaiʻi by USA TODAY in the publications 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards.  The resort was selected for its “plush ocean view rooms, lagoon-style pool” and location at Kāʻanapali Beach.

The nonprofit Hawai‘i Land Trust will honor Maui’s Dana Naone Hall as its 2023 Champion of the Land. She will be recognized at the 21st-annual Buy Back the Beach benefit lū‘au for her longtime contributions to land conservation in Hawai‘i. 

Nā Hoaloha ‘Ekolu employees from Old Lahaina Lūʻau, Star Noodle, Leoda’s Kitchen and Pie Shop, and Hoaloha Bake Shop, showed their community spirit and generosity by collecting and donating more than 1,000 “Back to School” supply kits to Maui County students. .

The Nā Kamehameha commemorative celebration returned in person to Lahaina town on Saturday with the pāʻū parade and the ho‘olaule‘a (Hawaiian festival) under the big Lahaina banyan tree.

The owners of Old Lāhainā Lūʻau, Star Noodle, Leoda’s Kitchen and Pie Shop, and Aloha Mixed Plate were commended by the Department of Transportation’s Highways Division for their employees’ impressive and sustained volunteerism for Maui’s environment.

Popular West Maui eatery, Star Noodle will reopen in early November at the spot previously occupied by its sister restaurant, Aloha Mixed Plate. Now with enhanced safety measures and distancing requirements, restaurant managers say the new ocean-front space at 1285 Front Street, will provide the open-air and increased capacity they need.

The Old Lahaina Lūʻau is temporarily closing its lūʻau event starting March 18, 2020 due to precautions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. The decision to suspend the lūʻau also takes into consideration measures recommended by federal, state, and county officials to cancel or postpone events with large gatherings of people through the end of the month.
