Habitat for Humanity Maui announces Disaster Recovery Fundraiser at Old Lahaina Lūʻau to rebuild Lahaina post-wildfires

Habitat for Humanity Maui announced a special Disaster Recovery Fundraiser to be held at the historic Old Lahaina Lūʻau on Aug. 17, 2024. This event aims to raise essential funds to support the rebuilding of Lahaina, which was devastated by the catastrophic wildfires of 2023. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go directly towards recovery and reconstruction efforts.

Disaster area restriction lifted for Zone 5A: Old Lahaina Lūʻau anchored parcel

County of Maui Disaster Area Restrictions have been lifted for business in Zone 5A, which is the Old Lahaina Lūʻau anchored parcel along Front Street. Access is via the Lahaina Cannery Mall through the Keawe Street entrance only. All other entrance points are blocked off.

Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa was named the Best Hotel in Hawaiʻi by USA TODAY in the publications 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards.  The resort was selected for its “plush ocean view rooms, lagoon-style pool” and location at Kāʻanapali Beach.

Hawai‘i Land Trust to honor Dana Naone Hall as 2023 Champion of the Land 

The nonprofit Hawai‘i Land Trust will honor Maui’s Dana Naone Hall as its 2023 Champion of the Land. She will be recognized at the 21st-annual Buy Back the Beach benefit lū‘au for her longtime contributions to land conservation in Hawai‘i. 

Nā Hoaloha ʻEkolu employees donate 1000+ Back to School kits

Nā Hoaloha ‘Ekolu employees from Old Lahaina Lūʻau, Star Noodle, Leoda’s Kitchen and Pie Shop, and Hoaloha Bake Shop, showed their community spirit and generosity by collecting and donating more than 1,000 “Back to School” supply kits to Maui County students. .

Maui’s Old Lahaina Lūʻau Implements Temporary Closure

The Old Lahaina Lūʻau is temporarily closing its lūʻau event starting March 18, 2020 due to precautions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. The decision to suspend the lūʻau also takes into consideration measures recommended by federal, state, and county officials to cancel or postpone events with large gatherings of people through the end of the month.
