The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation is notifying the public of single lane closures on and along Puʻunēnē Avenue next week for installation of traffic signal detectors. All work will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Nighttime traffic signal work in Kahului to repair kona low damage
The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation notifies highway users that the traffic signal at Kamehameha Avenue and Puʻunēnē Avenue (Route 3500) will either function in flash mode or be dark from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Saturday, April 18.
Update: Traffic signal temporary repairs completed for the intersection of Puʻunēnē Avenue and Kamehameha Avenue
The traffic signal at the Puʻunēnē Avenue (Route 3500) and Kamehameha Avenue intersection is fully functioning. Interim repairs were made in the morning on Monday, March 16.
Traffic signal upgrades to close lanes at Kahului intersection
Motorist and road users are advised that lanes will be closed overnight at the Puʻunēnē Avenue (Route 3500) and the West and the East Kamehameha Avenue intersection, Friday night into Saturday.

Closures on Nāpilihau and Honoapi‘ilani Saturday for traffic signal installation
The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation is notifying highway users that portions of Nāpilihau Street and Honoapi‘ilani Highway near Nāpili Plaza will be closed on Saturday, Sept. 13 as crews will be installing a new traffic signal at the intersection.
Single lane closure on Maui Veterans Highway for traffic signal work, Jan. 23-24
The right single lane in the westbound direction will be closed on both sides of the Maui Veterans Highway intersection with Cane Haul Road from 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23 to 6 a.m., Friday Jan. 24.
Closures at Kāʻanapali intersection for traffic signal pole replacement, Oct. 29
The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation advises highway users of single lane closures at the intersection of Honoapi‘ilani Highway and Kāʻanapali Parkway, from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29, to replace a traffic signal pole.
Early morning closures at Kahului intersection to install camera system
The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation advises highway users that single lanes will be closed at the intersection of Puʻunēnē Ave. (Route 3500), Kūihelani Highway (Route 380), Maui Veterans Highway (Route 311) and Mayor Elmer F. Cravalho Way (Route 3800), on Tuesday, Oct. 8 and Thursday, Oct. 10, from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m.

The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises highway users that crews will be conducting traffic signal work at the intersection of Honoapi‘ilani Highway (Route 30) and Kūihelani Highway (Route 380) in Māʻalaea from 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 3 to 6 a.m., Friday, Oct. 4.
Nighttime lane closures June 13 to install temporary traffic signal at Nāpilihau Street
The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation advises highway users of traffic modifications on Honoapi‘ilani Highway and Nāpilihau Street beginning at 8 p.m., Thursday, June 13 to 6 a.m., Friday, June 14. During the nighttime closure, crews will install a temporary traffic signal to replace the traffic signal mast that was shortened on June 1.
Temporary signals at Keawe-Kupuohi intersection in Lahaina to be installed Wednesday morning
A portable, temporary traffic signal system will be installed at the intersection of Keawe and Kupuohi streets in Lahaina between midnight and 6 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, to allow safer access to and from Kupuohi Street. The temporary signals are planned to remain in place until a permanent system is designed and constructed.
Traffic light hanging at intersection of Hāna Highway and Dairy Road in Kahului
A traffic signal head and pedestrian signal are hanging from a traffic pole at the intersection of Hāna Highway and Dairy Road in Kahului, according to the state Department of Transportation. The department reports that the signal is dark and police were directing traffic at the intersection as of 12:45 p.m. Crews and technicians are en route.
Traffic signal work at Wākea Ave. / Hoʻohana St. intersection, Feb. 28
The intersection at Wākea Avenue and Hoʻohana Street in Kahului will operate as a four-way stop from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28, while work is done on the traffic signal.
