Todd Graham has resigned as head football coach at the University of Hawai‘i, administrators announced today. Graham was hired in January 2020 and had just completed the second year of a five-year contract.

The University of Hawaiʻi announced it will not participate in the EasyPost Hawaiʻi Bowl against Memphis due to COVID-19 related issues. The game was scheduled for today, Christmas Eve, at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex.

It will cost about $6 million to retrofit existing facilities at the University of Hawaiʻi Mānoa in order to host Rainbow Warrior football games over the next three seasons, the University announced.

The University of Hawaiʻi football team is expected to resume play as the Mountain West Conference confirmed plans to start an amended schedule for the 12-member conference.

Toyota Hawaiʻi: “As far as we’re concerned, UH Athletics is the official Home Team of Toyota Hawaiʻi whether games are happening or not. We felt that now is the time to really show our Rainbow Warrior spirit and provide more support to our longtime partner.”

The California Hotel in downtown Las Vegas made a $450,000 pledge to the UH Athletics Dept for the volleyball court naming rights of the Stan Sheriff Center.

Ohio State senior associate athletic director Ben Jay has accepted an offer to become the new athletic director at the University of Hawai’i, according to a report by The Columbus Dispatch.

University of Hawai’i supporters will have a unique opportunity to help the Athletics Department and experience the excitement of a rare Hawai’i performance by the legendary Stevie Wonder when he performs on Saturday, Aug. 18 at the Stan Sheriff Center.

University of Hawaii administrators are pursuing the option of becoming an independent in football and joining another conference for its 18 other athletic programs.
