To maintain reliable service, Hawaiian Electric crews will be working to relocate 11 poles along Waiehu Beach Road between Kahekili Highway and Maka‘ala Drive, from Monday, June 15 to Saturday, July 4 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Saturday. No service interruption is expected.

To maintain safe and reliable service, Hawaiian Electric crews and contractors will be performing urgent storm-related repair work on Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., to relocate 2 poles along ‘Īao Valley Road between South Alu Road and Ua Place. The poles need to be relocated due to the severe back-to-back storms that caused widespread erosion in the area. No service interruption is expected.

Understanding the difference between utility lines and poles will help the public report hazards, including downed or sagging lines and damaged equipment or poles, to the responsible company.

The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation advises highway users of single lane closures at the intersection of Honoapi‘ilani Highway and Kāʻanapali Parkway, from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29, to replace a traffic signal pole.

To ensure reliable service, maintenance utility pole work that will impact area traffic along Dairy Road fronting the Maui Marketplace in Kahului has been rescheduled to Monday, Aug. 12 and Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. No service interruptions are planned for this work. The work was originally scheduled for Aug. 5 and 6.

To ensure reliable service, maintenance work at the base of two utility poles will impact area traffic along Dairy Road fronting the Maui Marketplace in Kahului on Tuesday, April 30, Wednesday, May 1, and Thursday, May 2, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. No service interruptions are planned for this work.

Kaupakalua Road is closed in both directions between South Holokai Road and Hāna Highway due to a downed utility pole that is completely across the roadway.

Kahekili Highway is closed in the Wailuku-bound direction between Waiehu Beach Road and Makaʻala Drive.

The fire was ruled accidental and was caused by a downed electrical power line. A quarter-acre of grass and fallow sugar cane was blackened near Haleakalā Hwy.
