The 25-year-old man was operating a black Kawasaki motorcycle on the Honoapiilani Highway, when he collided into the right side of a light blue Chrysler Town and County mini van making a left turn onto Kaanapali Parkway.
Fallen Tree Branch Culprit of Waihee Power Outage
An early morning power outage in Central Maui is being attributed to a large tree branch that fell onto power lines in Wailuku. The incident was reported at around 1:17 a.m. and cut off electric power to customers in parts of Wailuku Heights, Wailuku Town, and Waiehu to Kahakuloa.
Alleged Ponzi Schemer Arrested on Maui
Jedidah “Jed” Duarosan, 37, was arrested at her home in Kula, this morning. She was indicted for allegedly operating an investment fraud scheme targeting Maui residents.

Nine hikers were rescued from the Bamboo Forest area of East Maui when a flash flood made stream waters impassable. The rescue took place in the Mile Post 6.5 area of the Hana Highway on a trail referred to by some as the “Commando Trail”.
