Managing Director Baz said the mayor does not believe Bill 60 will relieve crowds at Kahului Airport, reduce traffic on Maui’s roadways, or solve the problem of transient vacation rentals operating in neighborhoods. “Bill 60 will simply limit the choice of visitor accommodations in West and South Maui for the next 5-10 years,” said Baz.

DOH Warns Consumers of Recalled Sunscreen Products with Benzene
The Hawai‘i State Department of Health is alerting residents and visitors that Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc. is voluntarily recalling all lots of five NEUTROGENA® and AVEENO® aerosol sunscreen product lines. Company testing identified low levels of benzene in some samples of the products. Consumers should stop using the affected products and discard or return them.

The American Jobs Plan includes a $50 billion investment in resilient infrastructure, including restoring and protecting nature-based infrastructure such as lands, forests and wetlands.
Maui Pedestrian Dies in Hit-And-Run on South Kīhei Road
A 74-year-old Kīhei man suffered fatal injuries when he was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run accident on South Kīhei Road at around 7:36 p.m. Monday. Police say the vehicle involved may be a red SUV of an unknown make/model/year.

Canada to Ease Border Measures for Fully Vaccinated Americans on Aug. 9
Starting Aug. 9, 2021, Canada plans to begin allowing entry to American citizens and permanent residents, who are currently residing in the US, and have been fully vaccinated at least 14 days prior to entering Canada for non-essential travel.
