COVID-19 UPDATE: 2 Test Negative For Virus

To date, there have been 21 confirmed cases of COVID-19 (19 crew members and 2 passengers) on the Grand Princess cruise ship that made port calls to Nawiliwili Harbor, Kauai on Feb. 26, Honolulu Harbor on Feb. 27, Lahaina, Maui on Feb. 28, and Hilo on Feb. 29.

County of Maui Briefed on Grand Princess Cruise Situation

The County of Maui has been briefed by the State Department of Health, Governor’s Office and emergency response partners regarding the new confirmed COVID-19 cases from the Grand Princess Cruise ship.

Hawai‘i has its first confirmed case of COVID-19, after a Hawai‘i resident spent time on the Grand Princess cruise ship that traveled to Mexico in February. 

Hawaiian Airlines to Adjust Hawai‘i-Haneda Flight Frequency

Effective March 28 through April 29, the airline will temporarily suspend flights that operate three-times-weekly between Kona International Airport on the Island of Hawai‘i and Haneda, and four-times-weekly between Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport and Haneda. At the same time, Hawaiian will launch an additional daily nonstop service between HNL and HND as announced in November of last year.

Honoapi‘ilani Highway Downed Power Line in Ukumehame

Posted: 1:40 p.m. March 6, 2020: The Honoapiʻilani Highway is closed in the southbound direction at Ukumehame due to a downed power line. Traffic is being alternated. Motorists are asked to be cautious as they drive through the area.

The median price for a single family home on Maui was $747,150 in February 2020, down -5.4% from the $790,000 reported at the same time last year, according to new information released by the REALTORS Association of Maui.
