Power Restored to 4,000 West Maui Customers

Maui Electric crews, along with help from additional crews, contractors and resources, restored power to a majority of the 4,000 customers without power in West Maui and isolated pocket outages in Upcountry, Haʻikū and Waiheʻe by 2:55 a.m. this morning.

4,000 Still Without Power in West Maui

Maui Electric crews continue to work on restoring power to about 4,000 customers in West Maui and pockets of Upcountry, Ha‘ikū and Waihe‘e today after these areas experienced outages due to heavy winds and downed trees.

State Parks Across Hawaii Set to Re-Open on Saturday

On Maui, after staff assessments, all parks except for Waiʻānapanapa State Park are expected to reopen in the morning. Waiʻānapanapa is not accessible currently off the Hāna Highway which was severely impacted by the storm.

Maui County Update: 9 p.m. 8.23.18

Hurricane Lane is still heading for Maui County as a category 3 hurricane with 120 mile per hour winds. A Hurricane Warning, Flash Flood Watch and High Surf Warning for all south facing shores is still in effect countywide.
