LahainaTown Action Committee to Hold Annual Juried Poster Contest
The LahainaTown Action Committee invites artists to enter its 27th annual juried poster contest. The submission date is July 31, 2015.
Maui Matsuri Festival Scheduled for May 16
The Maui Matsuri festival scheduled for Saturday, May 16, from 2 to 9 p.m. will feature Japanese and Okinawan cultural entertainment, food and craft booths, demonstrations and exhibits, cultural crafts and games for kids, manga and art contest, hanafuda contest, eating contests, Cosplay (costume) contest, video-gaming, obon dancing and more.
Kuana Torres Kahele CD Release Concert in Wailuku March 27
The Maui Historical Society and H.I. Mele Entertainment will be presenting Kuana Torres Kahele’s live at the Bailey House Museum in Wailuku on Friday, March 27, from 5 to 8 p.m. The event will feature the release of Kahele’s new album, and ticket purchases will include a copy of new CD.
Chinese Kite Flying Festival at Wo Hing Museum, Kāʻanapali Beach
The world of airborne wonders will be celebrated at the Lahaina Restoration Foundation’s Chinese Kite Festival at Wo Hing Museum on Friday, April 17. A kite-flying event will follow at Kāʻanapali North Beach open space park on Saturday, April 18. Admission for both events is free.
Matagi Trio to Perform at Hawaiian Music Series Concert
The Matagi Trio will perform at the Lahaina Restoration Foundation’s free monthly Hawaiian Music Series concert on Thursday, March 26, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the the lawn of the Baldwin Home Museum at the corner of Dickenson and Front streets in Lahaina.
