For a third consecutive year, Nick Walker won the Dukes Beach House 10K, finishing with a time of 40 minutes, 42 seconds. Walker also won the event in 2009 and 2010, when it was held in Makena. Van Vlerken was the first female finisher, and the third runner to finish the race behind Maui’s Paul Hopwood of Makawao who finished second with a time of 43:33.

Maybe, a bit of home cooking will help the Hawaii football team get its season back on track.
