Kaunoa Senior Services to hold new West Maui activities for kūpuna this month

Kaunoa Senior Services, a division of the County of Maui Department of Human Concerns, is holding new and ongoing classes and activities this month in West Maui for kūpuna ages 55 and older.

Maui to open Temporary Evacuation Point at 9 p.m. at King Kekaulike High School

In coordination with the Maui Emergency Management Agency, County of Maui Department of Human Concerns and the state Department of Education, the American Red Cross will open a Temporary Evacuation Point at King Kekaulike High School gymnasium at 9 p.m., Feb. 8, 2026, ahead of potential severe weather impacts.

County releases report on strategies to reduce and prevent homelessness

The County of Maui Department of Human Concerns on Friday released “Recommendations to Address Homelessness in Maui County,” a report offering strategic solutions to reduce and prevent homelessness across the county.

Update: Holiday Bingo Blast to be featured at Kaunoa Clubhouse on Dec. 17

Kaunoa Senior Service’s Holiday Bingo Blast will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at the Kaunoa Clubhouse in the Lahaina Civic Center Social Hall. The Kaunoa Clubhouse will be open from 9 a.m. to noon for those ages 55 years and older. Refreshments will be provided.

Grant applications open for mental health, immigrant and migrant services

The County of Maui Department of Human Concerns is soliciting grant proposals for programs providing mental health services or immigrant and migrant services to Maui County residents.
